Whilst all the media seems to be around the English Language requirements for Partner visas, another announcement in the budget is a relaxation of the earnings requirements for NZ Citizens wanting to obtain permanent residency with a subclass 189 visa.

Previously applicants were required to prove minimum earnings of ($53,900) per annum for the last four financial years. The government has now reduced this requirement to the last three (3) financial years.
